Mengapa EXIT Berwarna Hijau?

Catatan Ringan. Pernahkah kita perhatikan tulisan “EXIT” kebanyakan berwarna hijau? Dalam gedung bioskop misalnya, pada saat gelap dan terjadi keadaan darurat, orang-orang pada tegang dan panik mau keluar ruangan, pada saat itu warna yang paling cepat ditangkap dengan baik oleh mata adalah warna hijau dibandingkan dengan warna lainnya, oleh karena itu warna hijau dipakai untuk tulisan EXIT pada pintu-pintu darurat yang pada ruangan yang kemungkinan besar akan gelap.
Selain itu warna merah dan warna biru memiliki tingkat kecerahan yang tinggi, sehingga mata akan mudah lelah jika kita melihat warna tersebut terlalu lama. Sebaliknya warna hijau tidak membuat mata sakit dan lelah. Itulah salah satu alasan mengapa papan tulis yang digunakan pada sekolah sebagian berwarna hijau selain hitam dan putih.
